Treasure Hunting

Geocaching. I had no idea what it was until a nurse I work with was telling me about how when she was taking a hike in AZ, they came across this box with a book and a notepad. The note pad had lots of names and dates on it, and there was a few other things in the box. They left it there, not knowing what it was until after they returned home, and someone told then what they had found. When I heard her story I instantly googled Geocaching and read up on it. I immediately knew that this was something the boys would probably like to do.

What is Geocaching?
"Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location." www.geocaching.com

I bought the GPS app on my iPhone 5 for $10. It works really neat and takes you exactly (within 30 feet or so) of the cache.

We did our first hunt on this past Sunday. And it was a hit with the boys and my husband. What could be more fun then real life treasure hunting? We got lucky and even found a "trackable"!
