has made its ugly face a visit here in the halsey household over the past few weeks. Of course there is always a little stress ( I mean who doesn't have a bit of stress?) but over the last 2 weeks its been intense. I'm never one to complain. In fact, I'm one of the most optimistic individuals i know. But GAWD.... its been bad. It all started with Cameron getting sick, missing 5 days of school, me getting sick, missing school and doing photo shoots while feeling like my sinuses were going to explode. Lots of shoots were cancelled and had to be moved around due to weather. Then nursing school. Didn't make the grade I was hoping on my last patho exam. And now surgery in the am with D for a inguinal hernia at U of M. Oh and did I forget to mention that tony is taking trigonometry 3 days a week. So yes you can clearly see why I feel like I'm about to explode. But the stress is on its way downhill. November will be a less busy month for me. More time for the boys and Tony, and more time for studying. I'm sure that this is awful grammar, and there should probably be 4 different paragraphs in this, but to be honest, I don't care!

here is to calmer waters on the horizon....

Dont' scratch that itch Sarah!

So...I have been getting into something I have no business doing right now (because of how busy I am with school/photography/kids/housework etc) but its really fun! Recently, I found a photographer in Texas who does birth photography and birth videography. OMGOODNESS!!! It is awesome! I was hooked instantly. I loved capturing birth, love birth photography, love everything about birth actually.
I sent this photographer a message just letting her know how amazing she is. She was nice enough to respond to me and even asked if she could check out my page. Going back and forth between messages, I found out alot of stuff. I asked her questions like what lens she uses ( i have one that she uses), if she uses a tripod or just handheld (just handheld), and such. She was super awesome and a great resource.
I shot a little video with my the boys a few nights ago just getting ready for bed, then yesterday I shot a little video with a few of my friends. Its alot of fun, and the videos don't take long at all to put together. As much as I want to keep playing with it, I have so much photo-editing to do for my clients. So on the back burner it goes. I do plan on using the video mode in the upcoming births that Im going to be shooting within the next couple months. Yay for videography!Babywearing video, My boys October 2013.

silly studies

What a typical "study session" looks like over here at the halsey household.

Number one priority is to entertain the kid(s).

Study for about 10 minutes before they want to know what mommy is doing.
 Then off they go!
